 Caramoor "Rising Stars" Festival. A yearly week-long mini-festival in which a small number of highly gifted young musicians come to work intensively and then perform with well known professional musicians., Caramoor Center for the Arts, Katonah, NY. (10/24-31/05)
A wonderful opportunity to work with the next generation of outstanding young string players. The age range was 17-23, all experienced soloists and chamber musicians. This year there were only 6 young artists who worked and performed with violinist Donald Weilerstein, pianist Anton Kuerti and me.

 Summer Festival
 Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival. A mixed chamber music festival, primarily concert performance, with a single student piano quintet that receives multiple coachings from the various visiting artists., Fernandina Beach, Amelia Island, FL. (6/6-21-05)
Over the course of these few weeks, I performed with violinists Hilary Hahn, Martin Chalifour, Elmar Oliveira and Mark O'Connor; violist Sabina Thatcher; pianist Horracio Gutierrez; composer Peter Schikele (aka PDQ Bach; cellist Lynn Harrell and of course founding director, Atlanta Symphony principal cellist Christopher Rex.

I began teaching and performing at the Aspen Festival when I joined the Cleveland Quartet in 1987. Since the end of the quartet in 1995 I have served as Artist/Faculty, teaching & performing each summer. Highlights included the World Premiere of a work by Libby Larsen written for Mezzo-soprano Susanne Mentzer, pianist Craig Rutenberg and me.

Outstanding students from the leading schools of music (Shepherd School, Juilliard, Curtis, Cleveland Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, Lübeck Hochscüle, Colburn School, USC, Indiana University, etc.)The faculty is equally stellar: concertmasters of Cleveland Orchestra and L.A.Philharmonic, principal viola from the Cleveland Orchestra, faculty from Rice, NEC, CIM, IU, Lübeck, etc.

 The Great Wall Internationl Music Academy. A program of solo and chamber coaching, featuring many public performances including opportunities to play solo with a fully professional orchestra., Beijing, China. (7/21-8/14/05)
A new 4 week festival, the dream of violin pedigogue Kurt Sassmannshaus (Cincinnati Concervatory of Music) which brought together students and faculty from throughout China, the U.S. and much of the world. A participated for the final week.

 le Domaine Forget. A summer program with weekly lessons by a resident faculty, enhanced by week-long residencies by guest artists., St. Irinee, Quebec, Canada. (7/24-31/05)
This was my second summer at le Domaine Forget, a high level training program for young musicians. The resident faculty are wonderful musicians who give the students regular attention. The guests like me come in for one week of daily masterclasses! The level is very high, both among the students and the internationally renowned faculty.

The Amelia Island Chamber Music Festival brings a single piano quintet of young musicians each summer to perform and learn from the musicians of the festival. This was part of my involvement in this program.

It was especially gratifying for me to return to Eastman where I taught for 10 years as a member of the Cleveland Quartet. It was a welcome homecoming, with many of my former colleagues still on the faculty. The students were excellent as always at this fine school, and of course very well prepared.

 Public Masterclass, St. Cecilia Friends of Music. As a member of the Advisory Board for St. Cecilia Friends of Music, I gave a masterclass at St. Stephen's Church, open to the public, offered free of charge by St. Cecilia Friends of Music to performers from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts. In conjunction with HSPVA music director Dr. Clif Evans, this was the inauguration of the St. Cecilia outreach program to area high schools with an interest in the arts., St. Stephen's Church, Houston, TX.
