“Rice University Research Team Helps Make Sense of Housing Crisis Data – Hadley Wickham. Much of the housing crisis story comes down to numbers, but getting stories from data is often a messy and difficult process. A Rice University research group is working to make this task easier. Hadley Wickham, assistant professor of statistics at Rice University, wrote last week on the "Flowing Data" forum (a great resource for datasets and tips on how to use them), that a team of his students published 13 relevant datasets that have been cleaned up for easier use.”

Research Areas
My research is in the domain of statistical computing, focused heavily on statistical graphics. The use of graphics in statistics is increasingly important today, as technology increases both the quantity and heterogeneity of data, and also enhances our ability to produce insightful visualisations. I am particularly interested in building the foundations of statistical graphics, developing new methods and making my research easy for others to use and build upon.
