    Research Areas
US history in the 20th century
Carter, Reagan and the End of the Cold War
I have been giving a course of lectures on this subject, done archival research in collections in Washinton and the relevant presidential libraries, and read as much as I can of the voluminous literature on the foreign crises of the 1977-1991 period. I intend my book to appeal both to scholars and to the educated general reader, to be both narrtive and interpretive. I hope to complete most of the book during my sabbatical next
    academic year.
